Our Mission Partners: Pray for the international mission work of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, the Canadian Anglican response for emergency relief, refugees, development, and justice.

Those Caught Up In Armed Conflicts: Pray for a just and peaceful resolution to the conflict in the Middle East and all war torn areas of our world. We continue to pray for young men and women serving in Afghanistan, and for those serving in other areas of conflict, especially our Canadian service men and women, and we give thanks for those who have recently returned home.
In Our World: Pray for those affected by the flooding in Pakistan.

IN OUR PARISH:

WANT TO LOSE SOME SUMMER WEIGHT? Take those toonies and loonies out of your pockets and put them in a jar for our Loonies for the Loo project!

CLEANING CONTRACT - Peggy White has been contracted to provide cleaning service for St. Paul’s church. If you have any questions or concerns about the cleaning do not hesitate to speak to one of the Wardens.

FOODGRAINS BANK . TODAY there will be a major coffee hour following the 8am service with a presentation on the Canadian Foodgrains Bank by David Moat. This is part the Mission and Outreach of St Paul’s.

THE KNIT AND NATTER GROUP is selling home baked pies, etc., TODAY between the 8am and 10am services. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed their talents towards the renovations of the parish house. Contact Wendy at 265-3433 for further information.

THE GRACE BROWN FELLOWSHIP ROOM: Thanks to Wendy Shaw and her crew, the Parish House renewal is complete. It is with great joy that we are renaming the former library, The Grace Brown Fellowship Room to honour Grace's ministry in this place. To this end, there will be a special service and fellowship time in the Parish House TODAY at 3pm. All are welcome.

CALLING ALL GREETERS: Whether you are a seasoned veteran in this essential front line ministry, a relative newbie or this is something you would like to explore; whether you greet at 8, 9:15 or 11 am; Pat and Ellen would like to meet with you on Tuesday, August 31 at 7 pm for conversation, dessert and a refresher.

OUTDOOR SERVICE: Weather permitting, the 10 am service on Sunday, September 5, will be held outdoors. Please dress accordingly.

SCHOOLBOX’s 5th ANNUAL LATIN FIESTA! Mark your calendar: Friday, September 17, 7 pm in the Agricultural Hall. Don’t miss this year’s Latin Fiesta with a Twist, Aventura Nica will be making a presentation. $20 adult, $10 children at Blackbird Gift Shop. For more details check out the August issue of the HUMM. Hasta la vista!

HARVEST SUPPER This year’s Harvest Supper will be on Thursday, September 30th. We are again asking people to make donations to help off-set the cost of holding this event. You will find donation envelopes in the pews and at the back of the church. If you are interested in donating food items for the Harvest Supper, please speak to Mike Mavis or Barbara Maguire.

BREAD CRUSTS - Unwanted bread crusts make great stuffing for the Harvest Supper. Save up your bread crusts and once you have a bag full, leave them in the chest freezer in the church hall. Unwanted buns and rolls are always welcome as well.

CHRISTIANITY IN THE 21ST CENTURY – If you are interested in purchasing Christianity for the Rest of Us by Diana Bulter-Bass it is available at Mill Street Books. Don’t forget to ask for your 15% discount! If you want to check this adult-ed program out join us for dinner and an overview in the Hall on Tuesday October 6 at 6:30 pm. The course continues on Tuesday evenings 7-9pm OR Wednesday afternoons 2-4pm Oct 12/13 for 5 weeks. Please let us know if you plan to attend the dinner and which session (Tues or Wed) you plan on attending. The sign up sheet is at the back of the church.
